Which Parts of Resurrection Pass Are Open/Closed for Motorized Use?

Certain parts of the Resurrection Pass area are only open to motorized use during winters that begin in an odd-numbered year. (For example, last year’s 2017-2018 winter, or next year’s 2019-2020 winter.) But in winters that start in an even-numbered year (like this year’s 2018-2019 winter), they’re closed to motorized use.

So, if you’re a hiker, snowshoer, skier or fat-biker who doesn’t want to worry about being mowed down by the occasional inattentive snowmachine user, or if you’re one of the many responsible snowmachine owners who wants to keep current on where you can and can’t go, here’s the map of areas around Resurrection Pass that are closed to motorized use this winter and all winters that start in even-numbered years.

The map is from Chugach National Forest’s Seward Ranger District, and you can also download the map in PDF form.
